Neuralink Patient Plays Chess Using Mind Chip

Earlier this week, Nolan Arbaugh, a 29-year old, quadriplegic, Neuralink patient live-streamed a game of chess he played. He was able to control the computer by using the Neuralink implant in his brain. Arbaugh suffered a diving accident which left him quadriplegic, but has found a way to control his senses using the Neuralink chip.

[It’s] like using the Force.

Arbaugh received his Neuralink in January. He didn’t just play chess this week. He played Civilization VI for eight straight hours after not being able to play for years. Experts aren’t calling Arbaugh’s achievement a breakthrough, yet. There’s still a lot of learning Neuralink needs to do.

This technology holds lot of promise for paraplegics and others with neurological impairments. I hope companies supplying this technology keep it for the good of mankind.
