CashApp users who experienced fraudulent or unauthorized withdrawals are eligible for a class action lawsuit against the company. CashApp and its parent company Block, Inc. didn’t properly notify customers after one of their employees accessed user accounts without customer permission.
What Happened?
A CashApp employee inappropriately accessed user accounts. CashApp discovered their employee illegally accessing accounts and failed to notify customers of the incident. Users reported unauthorized and tradulent transactions on their account, and the companies didn’t explain why.
CashApp settled the lawsuit and $15 million are available for victims of the crime. Users are eligible for up to $2,500 due to lost money and time due to their negligence. Users have to act quickly. You must provide documentation you were victimized, and you have to file it before November 18th.
If you were a CashApp user between August 23, 2018 and August 20, 2024 you can join the class action settlement and file your claim. You’ll need 3rd party documentation supporting your claim. There is no timetable when payouts will be made.
