Ever since I watched Ronnie Bell drive one in the NE Heartbreak video, I’ve wanted a scooter. Cruising through sunny locales on two small wheels equals freedom, my friend. Mopeds and motor scooters help urbanites break free of gridlock while exploring everything a city has to offer. Every generation becomes infatuated with the scooter. Even Macklemore couldn’t resist the urge of writing a song about the exhilaration a 25cc motor can bring.
A Vesper may epitomize cute and cool, but this little doodad from Honda gives it a run for its money.
Introducing the Motocompacto
Honda introduced the Motocompacto this week. The Motocompacto is a compact, suitcase sized scooter. Like other scooters, you can pick it up and throw it, but this scooter folds into a neat carrying case. The steering column and seat fold into the body allowing it to be stowed in small places.
It’s svelte. At 4 inches wide and 22 inches tall you can stand the thing in a corner and take it for a spin later.
City Specs That Make Sense
The Motocompacto tops out at 15 MPH, has a 12 mile range, and takes 3.5 hours to charge. It whips up to 15 MPH in 7 seconds flat. The Motocompacto also ships with an app allowing you to monitor performance and its location.
Honda’s latest scooter gets its heritage from the Motocompo a small scooter Honda sold in the early 80s. It’s all practicality and Honda reliability.
You Can’t Get It Now!
You can get the Motocompacto now! Just in time for Christmas, for a really reasonable, and cheap $995. You can buy the little scooter now from Honda.com.
I’ve already asked El Jefe. It’s going on the list.
