Back-To-School: Summer Closeout Deals You Don’t Want to Miss Out On

I love a good deal. A bargain even.

Your kids are back in school, and you don’t have to buy any more clothes and supplies. (At least until they’ve out grown the clothes you bought, and break all those shiny pencils) Now is the time to treat yourself a little. When the kiddies go back to class, that means mommies and daddies can get new stuff.

In preparation for my Annual Gift Guide duties, El Jefe is letting me share some of the biggest deals you can score now kids are back on campus.

Time for a New TV

Deals on TVs have flooded the Internet. LG’s latest 4K TV is a whopping 48% off on Ebay and is brand-new on Amazon for 25% off. The LG C3 has a 65″ OLED screen and supports Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync refresh technology. These fancy features mean you’ll see kickoff happen at home before it happens in real life.

If you’re in the Amazon ecosystem, don’t care about the latest whizzbang picture, and only size matters, you can pick up a 50″ QLED Fire TV from Amazon for the ridiculous price of $350. If you have Prime you can pay for it and it’ll be in your living room the same day.

Laptops Deals You Can Agree With

If you’re like me and held out on getting your kid a new school laptop, this weekend might be your time to shine. HP is running a Labor Day sale slashing prices by 45% across most of their models.

Kids outgrow laptops like they do shoes. Despite what school requirements dictate the most they’re going to use these things for is Math Blaster and writing papers. The no-name, HP Laptop 15z, can be had for a mere $379. A really great price for a name brand machine with no real model name.

If you need something more high end, Lenovo is also having a sale. Some of their high end models have been discounted by $2,000. If you’re a fan of the StinkPad, the X1 can be bought for $1,700…cash.

New Speakers for Old Tunes

It seems like BlueTooth speakers never stand the test of time. If the battery is failing on your sound bar, or your headphones aren’t pushing the bass you’re used to it might be time to upgrade. None of these products are audiophile worthy, but you wouldn’t care about wheeling and dealing on Labor Day weekend if you were about that life.

El Jefe swears by the Beats Studio Pros he once bought, hot, off of Craigslist 15 million years ago. Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon are all hosting dueling sales of BSP’s at $250. A cool 30% off retail.

I don’t know anyone who’s ever tried them, but Ultimate Ears is running a sale across all e-commerce sites. Their products are being discounted between $20 and $50 this weekend. The Wonderboom 3, Megaboom 3, and Boom 3 can be bought just about anywhere. Discounted. That’s a lot of booms.

If you’re looking for something more substantial, and more practical for home use, Amazon has the Bose Soundlink II for 17% of MSRP. This speaker is more suited for use inside like on a kitchen counter to listen while you cook.

Apple

It wouldn’t be a deals article if we didn’t reserve a section for Apple. Admittedly, most of us writing for theSync are Apple fangirls or recovering Apple gear heads.

Computers can be bought for real cheap, cheap for Apple standards, right now. Mac Minis and MacBook Airs powered with the new M2 chip are 17 and 18% off. Sub-$1,000 Airs are a deal worth splurging for if you’re a fan.

Tags can be had for a hair cheaper this weekend as well. Despite Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 event, I don’t see many deals for phones yet. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t out there.

So, how did I do?

A smattering of deals for new gadgets to take up space in your home. If you spy interesting deals this weekend please share them by tagging us on our Instagram feed.
